Straight forward writing on a page, in a specific style can be a beautiful thing. Calligraphy is Greek for “Beautiful Writing”. Some documents, though, are more complicated requiring some design (or a lot of design). I can do that or handle the broader implications in letter design. I do hand lettering, typeface design, and logotype design. Resolutions, wedding vows, company logos, book titles, wine labels…, you name it.

- If you don’t know about design, no problem; that’s what I’m here to do. Better you tell me purpose, problem, or occasion. The chances are good that I know a lot about it and can offer suggestions. (Note: everything you see on my website; I designed!)

- Budget ”What does it cost?” is the often asked question. You know what I’m going to say; “it depends.” Generally, the more complex, the more expensive…which requires more time and consideration.
One should not overlook the pure power of the written word, flowing beautifully and reflecting the significant commitment of craft necessary to be good at this. Every project or artwork is made uniquely for you. I am grateful to have worked with individuals and large companies over my career on everything from original artworks, to graphic projects involving letters.

After receiving your reply and deposit, sketches are made, designs generated, review, and refinement usually follow. When all is decided, final artwork will be created. A hand-lettered piece must often fulfill some function.
