If you think about it, we rely visually on pictures (photos, videos, illustration) and words. Words… made of letters. A profound subject that is as taken for granted as air. Letters all started out as “hand made”. Typefaces (fonts) derive from hand-drawn letters and have only done so for roughly 500 years. The rest of recorded history is writing! (by hand). So, I have made a whole career out of making letters by hand: which includes design, craft skills, creative exploration and artistic expression. The world is starting to get that letters carry more information than just mere symbols. The character of the maker and their emotional state are revealed as well. The best part? There is always more to see, more to learn. That is why I like what I do.
